The Frankfort City Library is a great place to start researching your family history. The library has an extensive Kansas collection and microfilm newspapers dating from 1881 to present. A set of compact discs that contain the complete 1880 United States census plus a national index is available to patrons. Also available is the Scandinavia Vital Records Index that includes Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. If you would like to do research on your own, public computers and a microfilm reader are freely available to use. Staff is on hand to provide assistance. It is possible to print from the microfilm reader at a charge of .25.
The staff can perform limited research. Send your name and mailing address with your request and include as many details as possible to email@example.com. The year and date of your request is very important if at all possible. There is a $15.00 research fee for research taking 2 hours. Each additional hour will cost $5.00. Printing costs are not included in the fee.
